3 Makeup Illusions

Ever saw a girl and wondered, "How does she look so radiant, with cheek bones so high, and plump lashes?" To tell you the truth, nobody looks like that. That girl you saw was most likely wearing makeup. She probably knows a good amount about makeup to achieve her illuminating look. To master this, you need to know the basics of illusions. If not, you'll end up to look like this:

#1. Illusion: Plumper, Fuller, Beautiful Lashes.

You don't need to splurge on a $25 mascara, any sample sized mascara or drugstore mascara will do!

This video provides an excellent tip on how to achieve the lashes that you are dying for! I do mine slightly differently, but I'll save that for another video that I will do soon. 

*Tip*Black mascara works best for an illusion of bigger lashes. Be careful not to make it look messy and untidy.

#2. Taller and higher nose

Bubz will show you have to achieve nose contouring! I found that her video was the most helpful than a bunch of other ones. Also, I would make a video, but unfortunately...SHINGLES!

*Tip* Don't use too dark of a shade; it will end up looking scary and fake.

I was going to do one during break, but as you may already know, I had shingles last month and the scar is still on my face which wouldn't look so good on camera, but hopefully in the summer it is gone by then!

Shingles

Guess what? I have the infamous shingles. Hip Hip Hooray! Not.What are shingles? Shingles (Herpes Zoster) is caused by the same virus that causes the chicken pox. Anyone who has had chicken pox can develop shingles. The virus from chicken pox will 'sleep' (be dormant) in your body/nerves. Shingles will 'be awaken' from a trigger that studies are not so sure of. Some triggers that dermatologists think may 'awaken' shingles are stress, and a low immune system. I got shingles and I'm no where near 50-60 (which is the common age to get shingles). I get to skip school for a couple of days because It is contagious if it is direct skin contact. Yay for no school! Boo for having a big ugly thing on the side of my face >.<

How do Shingles look like?


Shingles form small painful blisters on one area of the skin, usually the side. I have them on the right side of my face..ick! It can form anywhere on your body.

I have a huge scab on one side because..well, I didn't know it was shingles, so I itched it :/

There are vaccines for shingles, but it is for people 60 years of age and older.

Treatment for shingles?

I went to the dermatologist today, which they were the Nicest people ever, and the doctor wrote some prescription down.

If you have shingles, I would advise you to see a dermatologist. Not only is it painful, but using some topical medications (such as Neosporin) can worsen it and cause inflammation and infect it even more. I've been instructed and advised on how to treat it, however, my situation is more; if you will, serious than your case may be. Early signs of shingles may include pain in that area, an itching frenzy (rash), or small bumps/blisters in form. I wasted <$100 at the regular doctor's office and all they told me was "You have shingles, don't do anything". A dermatologist specializes in conditions like this, they know much more. ^.^

I seriously love high end makeup. Something about them pops out at me. Makeup sold at Sephora, or department stores don't necessarily mean that it's the best quality. Like I said on my 1st post, department makeup is more expensive because they have to pay for their 'booth'.

High-End Brands=$$$$$$

Hello everyone!

From my last blog, I got a lot of comments asking me if (you) should spend a whole lot of money on high end makeup. Makeup, luckily, is not like clothes or jewelry, so no one will come up to you and be like "Cute Benefit Hoola Bronzer." No one can really tell (or know) what brand you are wearing. Celebrities could be wearing a lipgloss they found in the dollar store for all you know. The only thing I would recommend buying from department stores, or brands that have products that are good for you that you should really splurge on is face makeup (foundation, concealer, etc.), and skincare. This is because this stuff is applied to your skin, and if you use a foundation that isn't so good, it will cause breakouts and worsen your skin. Even though I LOVE high-end brands, they can really get pricey. I suggest going to drugstores for things like mascara or lip glosses. Try comparing colors from high-end to drugstore because you might find the same color you like, just different brands. High-end brands charge extra because i costs a lot of money to have a 'booth' in malls/department stores. Forever21 has by far the cheapest priced makeup I've seen. Some of their makeup is cheaper than drugstore. They have mascaras, eyeliners, eyebrow stuff, eyelash curlers, brushes, mirrors, eyeshadow palettes, lip glosses...and everything you could possibly imagine that would be at Sephora, or Ulta.
